The producers of the nr. 1 scratch removal system of glass now also offers a system for the renovation of weathered facades. Restore for example windows, entrances, but also billboards and garage doors to new again. The most common surface degradation is caused by the UV light from the sun. Where affected industrial coatings such as powder coating and PVC/plastic window frames and doors will look dull and weathered after years of weather influences. With the use of the Scratch Away SAW195 system, these surfaces are corrected and restored in a clean and controlled manner. As a result of which these surfaces return to their original gloss & surface structure and the surface can certainly withstand them for years to come. The SAW195 system is also ideal for repairing HPL, acrylic and Plexiglas®, epoxy, gelcoat, polyurethane based two-component paint, etc.
Do your coated or PVC frames and doors look dull and weathered?
Use the Scratch Away® system SAW195 to restore the original gloss and surface texture after years of neglect. With utmost ease and within a short period of time, everything will look like new again. Working with the SAW195 system is simple and requires minimal effort. The system has 2 steps. In the first step, we remove approximately +/- 0.005mm from the oxidized top layer. With powder coating -0.1mm is the usual thickness, so this 1st step can often be repeated. This oxidized top layer was created in previous years by the influence of UV light, air and acids and must be removed with the blue polishing pad and blue paste (Restart). With the second step we correct and protect the clean surface with the yellow polishing pad and yellow paste (Recharge) against the same external influences. All this is up to 5x faster compared to sanding and painting and up to 10x faster compared to wrapping. As a result, this sustainable renovation brings the best finish and lowest maintenance costs together.
How does the Scratch Away SAW195 machine work?
Due to the multi-orbit-per-rotation and high-torque movements of the SAW195 machine, the entire polishing head has the same speed over the entire polishing surface. With a specially designed mechanism, the torque value of the Scratch Away SAW195 is high, while the speed is low at the same time.
This solution minimizes the impact of the load applied by the user, thereby providing greater performance in uniformity of the refurbished surface. With a 76 mm (3 inch) diameter polishing head, it is an ideal size to focus on every detail of your renovation job, even with curved shapes. The speed controller is both practical and user-friendly. The speed can be easily adjusted without interrupting the renovation process. And with the unique counterweight system, the user experiences minimal vibration, which prevents fatigue in the hands and arms. Should the frictional forces impede rotation of the polishing wheel while the machine is not in operation, the eccentric motion with multi-orbit-per-rotation would simply become an eccentric motion without rotation around its own. The number of head rotations is variable and independent of the number of rotations performed. The multi-orbit-per-rotation system is currently the best compromise in terms of effectiveness and quality in surface treatment. This prevents excessive build-up of heat and repetitive motions, which will benefit the result of your renovation.
Sanding and painting coated and PVC surfaces, high costs and moderate results
When painting over industrially applied coatings and PVC/plastic frames and doors, masking and adhesion difficulties often arise. For example, you can think of paint on window rubbers or brush and roller markings on the masonry. In addition, the painted outcome does not match the original appearance of the surface and sometimes does not adhere well to edges and corners. As a result, these are the places where it will start to detach again. It also makes it very difficult when the painted surface has been damaged a lot, to carry out a repair locally, so that repainting everything is the only decent solution that remains.
Nano coating; can make surfaces shine without proper cleaning and restoring it
In recent years, Nano has been a widely heard word. In fact, Nano is an indication of how small something is. To make it understandable, Nano is 0.000001mm. So, when we talk about Nano coating, we are talking about a very thin coating. It is a “cheap” solution for a very thin layer with gloss and possible protection. The application advice for Nano coatings is also always to clean the surface thoroughly, just like the first step with the SAW195 system. Only then apply the Nano coating as a kind of ultra-thin seal. However, if the 1st step in this surface preparation is not carried out thoroughly and for example the underlying aluminium layer is damaged and oxidizes, this can lead to cracks and delamination of the surface. The result is a very costly damage and a surface that is difficult/not to be restored. Of course, this also applies to damages that occur during burglary for example who are hard to restore when Nano-coating has been applied before.
When renovating with the SAW195 system, you always remove in step 1 the oxidized top layer from the surface. And with step 2 we correct and protect the clean surface, which always allows easy repairs afterwards. An additional advantage is that the repaired surface can be used and maintained as before. This is not always the case with Nano coatings, which makes it almost impossible to comply with the Nano warranty conditions.
Wrapping /foil
This is the most expensive solution other than changing the frames themselves. Just as with painting and coating, the weather conditions are of great importance when applying. Therefore, this is limited to the season in which these activities can take place. There is a risk of additional damage such as cutting through the original paint, which leads to aluminium oxidation (cauliflower formation). The frame and the foil also have different thermal reactions, which in turn leads to shrinkage and delamination. And just as with the Nano coatings, the treated surface is often not ordinary to use and maintain as it was previously done. Making it nearly impossible to meet the wrap/foil warranty conditions.
Working with what you already have.
Scratch Away SAW195 system is specifically made for this renovation work without the risk of damaging just by working with the materials which are already there. The combination of polishing pads, polishing compounds and the multi-orbit-per-rotation and high-torque movements of the SAW195 machine, restore your surfaces to new and make the appearance of home, shop, hotel, or office attractive and inviting again.
All systems are delivered including a USB stick with all manuals and instructional videos.
